Humans are one of the most common races in the Galaxy, originating from a Titan construct used on most worlds where Titans were present. In many worlds, the constructs went extinct at one point or another, but many others they remain an at least influential race. On a number of important worlds, including Earth, Ivarind, Strahdholdt, Saroth and Yotvia, humans are one of the dominant races, if not the dominant one.

Biology[edit | edit source]

Humans are a standard, bipedal humanoid, mammalian race and on most worlds, they do not differ greatly from Earth humans, albeit on many worlds ethnicities absent on Earth are present, such as Red Martians from Mars.

Ethnicities[edit | edit source]

Most humans in the Galaxy are not divided into subraces, since the differences are really minor. There is however a number of distinct ethnicities, many of which are also present on Earth and are known in the Galaxy under different names, if any. There exists a small number of ethnicities which are absent on Earth.

  • Red Martians have a copper-red tinge to their skin, Hispanic facial structure and usually dark hair, with rare occurrences of brownish red hair. Their skin tone somewhat resembles Ancient Egyptians of Earth.
  • Yellow Martians have a yellow-golden-colored skin, Asian facial structure and brightly golden/blonde hair.
  • Vans of Ivarind look mostly human, with some seemingly elven features (merely idealized human features) as well silver/white hair and violet irises. In their case, they are not entirely human and their appearance stems from what silver dragons of Ivarind believed perfect humans looked like.
  • Aperusa are sometimes said to be a strange human off-shoot, with skin of varying, vibrant colors that normally do not appear in humans on any world, including deep blue, blood red or pitch black.
  • Yotvians are mutated through a curse that affected them early in their development and display flaps of loose skin that make outsiders commonly describe them as "pug-faced". They usually have wiry, dark hair and brownish, earthen skin tones. Blondes are born rarely and among the commoners seen as a blessing of the gods and a portent of great future.

True subraces[edit | edit source]

A few variants of humans with significant differences from the basic stock emerged on a few worlds.

  • The Mariners of Stygia adapted into aquatic life, spending most of their lives underwater. They have a bluish-teal skin covered in barnacles and greenish-teal hair mixed with seaweed. As their name suggests, they are expert sailors with some training in aether-sailing
  • The frostmen of Yasei have snow-white skin and pitch-black hair and prefer to live in cold climates.
  • The troglodytes live on a few human worlds and appear to be stronger and less intelligent than standard humans. They're known for powerful, muscular build and large, thick-browed skulls.
  • The Heliades of Helias are a magically altered human off-shoot. Their bodies are completely hairless, they have valves in their ears and a magical ability to speak with two different voices at once. They all have a fair skin despite otherwise outwardly resembling Ancient Greeks, from whom they're descended.
  • Sparts, currently found on Ganymede and Panchaea and formerly on Earth are a race of bald, bone-white, naturally muscular humans allegedly created (twice) 3000 years ago by sowing dragon teeth.
